Members reviewed the chapter's enforcement and disposition language and found several numbering and nesting inconsistencies that could obscure what actions the council may take following a finding of violation.
As one member read, "Upon finding of a violation, the council may take any enforcement action provided for it in this chapter." Members agreed the examples under that paragraph (judicial enforcement and council orders) should be renumbered from lettered subpoints to Roman numerals or Arabic numerals consistent with the rest of the ordinance.
The council asked staff to renumber enforcement subitems and ensure cross-references in the ordinance reflect the new numbering scheme before the next circulation to commissioners.
