The Comanche County Board approved a county utility permit submitted by AEP Oklahoma Transmission Co. to rebuild 36.2 miles of 138 kilovolt transmission line and replace wooden poles with steel poles across multiple sections in District 1. The minutes note the board acknowledged a memo from the Comanche County Floodplain Authority declaring portions of the proposed AEP project fall within designated Floodplain Zone A and that a floodplain development permit application had been completed and approved by the county floodplain manager.
Separately, the board approved a county utility permit submitted by Jeremy Smiddie on behalf of Windstream/Uniti to blow fiber in existing duct and place new hand holes and boxes near fence lines across a list of sections in District 1. The Windstream permit likewise included an acknowledgement that the county floodplain manager had approved the associated floodplain development permit application. Both utility permits were approved as consent-agenda items with no recorded opposition.
