The Board of Education for Skokie School District 69 approved its consent agenda at the Oct. 21, 2025 meeting, including payment of bills dated September 2025 totaling $854,746.69 and a set of personnel actions. The motion to approve was made by Dr. Mark Chao and seconded by Mr. Devin Savage and carried unanimously on a roll-call vote (Ayes: Freeman, Marsden, Bair, Khabeer, Chao, England, Savage).
Consent items listed in the packet included staff changes and routine governance items. Personnel actions recorded in the meeting packet included a licensed leave of absence for Julia Tangney (2nd grade teacher at Madison, effective May 20–June 8, 2026); nonlicensed hires Nadia Shakir (PreK special education paraprofessional at Madison) and Tyler Tangney (building engineer, districtwide), both effective Sept. 22, 2025; the resignation of Dezjah Walton (PreK secretary, effective Sept. 24, 2025); and the retirement of Jennifer Rutzen (data systems specialist, effective Jan. 7, 2028). The Board also approved its annual agenda and a change to the 2025–26 meeting calendar moving the April 21, 2026 meeting to April 14, 2026.
Board President Dan Freeman confirmed the roll-call tally after the vote. The approval completes routine fiscal and personnel business and allows the district to proceed with scheduled operations and planned staffing changes.
