Ken Kligman cites downtown revitalization, zoning and parking experience in planning commission interview

Ken Kligman, a candidate for the planning commission, told commissioners he has decades of experience in development and downtown improvement projects and said he would come prepared to study the comprehensive plan, codes and meeting packets before acting. Kligman described prior service on a downtown development authority, work on façade grants, and experience handling parking and zoning matters.

Kligman cited a façade‑grant program as an example of downtown revitalization work, saying, "It was $50,000 that, to dress up the businesses, dress up downtown." He also described experience with parking studies and a parking deck project and said he would rely on staff and training resources to stay current on planning responsibilities. Commissioners stressed the importance of avoiding ex parte contacts and attending regular meetings to maintain quorum.
