Oxford asks OCC for annual report of events and to maintain 501(c)(3) status

The Chair (speaker 3) said the town needs a simple annual report showing events and whether admission was paid or open to the public so commissioners can evaluate compliance with public-purpose expectations.
"If you could provide us with the list of your events and whether or not someone had to pay or they were open to the public," the Chair said, proposing a timeline tied to OCC’s fiscal year for submission. Commissioners added they expect OCC to maintain its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, which the Chair said "helps you with the public purpose and helps us." The parties agreed an annual review — or sooner if issues arise — is a more practical oversight approach than preapproving individual events.
Staff and OCC also discussed redaction of personally identifiable information if lease documents are provided to the town; staff offered to create an online form to accept summary event data while protecting private details.
