Mayor Johann R. Wallace summarized a March meeting in Benson that discussed data centers, utility concerns and evolving cooling technologies. He said the briefing included representatives from ASU and utility partners and told residents that earlier fears about water usage may not accurately reflect modern data-center designs, noting that, in some comparisons, "agriculture is actually uses a heck a lot more water than the data center does." He encouraged residents to review updated data and proposals rather than rely on older information.
