Huachuca City will begin the process to apply for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey explained the CDBG program and the requirement to hold public hearings as part of the selection process.
Council directed staff to start identifying potential projects, hold a Council work session, and conduct a public hearing to select specific projects. The first public hearing was scheduled for March 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Activity Center; the minutes note that buses should be made available for residents who need transportation to attend. The motion to begin the process was moved by Johann Wallace and seconded by Cynthia Butterworth.
Staff will prepare the public outreach schedule and return to Council with proposed projects for consideration in advance of any application submission.
