The Property Committee brought forward a temporary ordinance amending county code chapters to enable a pilot camping program at Kamala Park designed for people who have never camped or who lack equipment.
Member Layman described the program as an opportunity for people — including college students or those without gear — to reserve a spot where major equipment is pre-set, requiring participants only to bring bedding and food. "This is a really cool program... folks can just come out to the park, be able to not really have to worry about having any of the equipment," Layman said. The committee approved the temporary ordinance by voice vote.
