Resident says daughter struck at Circle K crosswalk; council to pursue safety fixes

Tami Ackerson told the Huachuca City Council that her daughter was struck while using the marked crosswalk by the Circle K and urged the town to install a safer crossing. Mayor Johann Wallace said the crosswalk has attracted attention from local television outlets and that staff hope to meet with the Arizona Department of Transportation next week to explore options. The council did not take a formal vote on infrastructure changes at the meeting; residents requested follow-up and staff indicated they would pursue further discussion with ADOT.
