A city staff member announced that beginning today the eastbound lane of 34th Street (County Road 14) and the adjacent asphalt trail will be closed between 694 and Hadley Avenue for pipe installation connected to the 3 m surface water diversion project. The closure is expected to last through August 28, "subject to change," the staff member said.
The staff member urged drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to follow the suggested detour and check the city link for maps and updates. The city did not provide a detour route in this briefing; officials said more details are available on the project's web page.
The closure affects eastbound traffic and the asphalt trail alongside that portion of County Road 14; residents planning travel in the area should allow extra time while work is underway. For the most current status, the city recommended consulting the online closure notice.
