Friends of Northern Lake Champlain outline design and timeline for Fairfield Pond improvements

Josh Sherpe of Friends of Northern Lake Champlain reviewed work completed since January 2025 on the watershed action plan for Fairfield Pond Beach and the boat launch. FNLC has a preliminary design and has obtained grant funding to pay for final design and construction; next steps include hiring a design engineer and creating opportunities for stakeholder input.
The organization expects the project timeline to extend through fall 2027 and noted the Selectboard will have chances to provide input before designs are finalized. Selectboard member Ron Bocash agreed to attend site visits on behalf of the board, and Selectboard member David Persons urged limiting changes to the boat launch to avoid impacting kayakers.
