Warble N Ring hamlet gets first reading; comp‑plan work to begin with award to Kimly Horne

Council held a first reading on the Warble N Ring Hamlet rezoning (25Z‑001) and did not vote on final action; it will return to public hearing at a later date. Community Development Director Mike Morton also outlined the schedule for the city's comprehensive‑plan update and emphasized the state timing requirement.

"We have to be done in less than a year. We will need to have it adopted in October to satisfy the state's calendar," Morton said, urging residents to pay attention to forthcoming public meetings and engagement opportunities as the comp‑plan process ramps up.

Morton also said the Rico Hamlet revised site plan and a deferred Campbellton gas station proposal would appear at future Planning Commission and council hearings, and staff will schedule public engagement sessions once the comp‑plan contractor begins work.
