Board weighs annexation, funding to formalize maintenance of Woods Drive

President Richard Samples reported the village has been maintaining Woods Lane but receives no road-district reimbursement because the road is in Woodson’s jurisdiction. Commissioners suggested annexation as an option; annexation would transfer responsibility and could allow the village to receive road-district funding, but the board must weigh the implications of assuming responsibility for the roadway.
Trustee J.W. Coleman asked if funding could be reallocated to the village; Samples said commissioners would look into it and presented annexation and changing the road-district from 10 to 15 as potential alternatives. Attorney Roland Cross will continue to research options and report back to the board.
