Summary
Police Chief Eric Hansell reported the Prairieland Lego contest had 19 participants, said new hires are doing well, and warned that a Trunk or Treat at South Elementary on Oct. 16 (5:30–6:30 p.m.) could require moving the next board meeting to avoid parking conflicts.

Police Chief Eric Hansell told trustees the Prairieland Lego contest "went really well. There were 19 participants," and added that new hires are continuing to do well. He announced a Trunk or Treat at South Elementary School on Oct. 16 from 5:30–6:30 p.m. and noted that because that event is on a Thursday the board’s next meeting may need to be rescheduled to ease parking demands. Chief Hansell also mentioned a WJVO‑sponsored safe Halloween event at Prairieland on Oct. 23 from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
No action was taken on the scheduling question at the Oct. 2 meeting; President Richard Samples later asked whether trustees could meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, as a possible alternative. The minutes do not record a final decision to change the meeting date.
