The Town Board approved a request to install a NALOX (Narcan) supply box next to the Taghkanic Community Fridge to provide community access to naloxone. Board Member Elisabeth Albert presented the request on behalf of the Columbia Greene Addiction Coalition.
The motion to grant permission was made by Perry Ascher and seconded by Doug Craig, and passed 5–0. The Board’s approval allows the coalition and town partners to install and maintain the box at the agreed location.
Board members described the action as a public-health measure to ensure lifesaving supplies are available to residents; implementation details and signage will be coordinated with the coalition.
