On Superintendent recommendation, the Board accepted for first reading a set of revised policies under Board By-Law 1410. The policies introduced for first reading include 1220 (Board member nomination and election procedures), 5413 (procurement: Uniform Grant Guidance for federal awards), 5674 (data networks and security access), 5681 (school safety plans), 5685 (maximum temperature for school buildings and indoor facilities), 5851 (cybersecurity incident response), 7316 (use of internet-enabled devices during the school day), 7513 (medication and personal care items), 7521 (students with life‑threatening health conditions), and 7522 (concussion management).
By-Law 1410 requires that policy additions or amendments be introduced in writing and moved at a public meeting at least 27 calendar days before a final vote. The Board’s action at the Jan. 22 meeting was the formal first reading; final adoption will require subsequent public consideration and a later vote.
