Mike Morton presented a first reading of a rezoning application to convert 100.835 acres from the RL Rural District to the HMR Residential Hamlet District. Morton said the plan shows 40 new residential units arranged in two main clusters and several smaller clusters, a central civic space, and approximately 80.98 acres of open and civic space; the plan also identified roughly an acre for nonresidential uses such as maker spaces and a cafe.
Morton said there will be a public hearing on the application at the planning commission meeting in one week and that the applicant planned open houses on‑site (this coming Tuesday, 6–8 p.m.) and a second session on Dec. 2. The item was presented for first reading only; council took no action on rezoning at this meeting.
