Board approves budget-publication notice, bus replacement and capital projects plans

Mister Ahas presented the timeline for the 2027 budget process and asked the board for permission to publicize the notice to taxpayers as the first of three months of review. “So today, just asking for approval to, publicize this ahead of the hearing in September,” he said.
The board approved the bus replacement plan (the state requires such a plan) and a capital projects fund plan that, per staff, currently anticipates no operating-funded projects above $10,000 and would rely on bonds for large projects. Board members moved, seconded, and approved both items by voice vote; the budget public hearing was scheduled for the September meeting with adoption expected in October and final submission to the DLGF in November.
