Franklin board welcomes about 38 new teachers at start-of-year meeting

Dr. Clendening introduced the district’s incoming faculty and asked new hires to come forward and say where they will teach. “This year's class, we have about 38 new faces in pre k through 12 graded with us,” he said, and thanked staff for a successful meet-and-greet earlier that day.
Several new teachers introduced themselves to the board and audience, naming assignments that included 6th-grade math, construction at the high school, and 7th-grade art at Franklin Middle School. Board members and administrators congratulated the new hires and invited them to join a group photo; parents and community members in the gallery applauded.
The introductions preceded the board’s recognitions of student accomplishments across academics, arts and athletics. The administration noted that many new hires already completed required onboarding steps such as background checks and had begun work with students the prior Wednesday.
