Council member Chris explained the city is applying again for a Fulton County Arts & Culture grant to support programming at the Cedar Grove Community Center. He said the application requests $20,000 and includes a 50/50 match from the city (a $20,000 match). Chris noted the city used feedback from last year’s debrief to strengthen this year’s submission and that the funds would support programming beginning July 2026.
Mayor and other members said the grant would help make use of a center the council previously funded for upgrades. Chris said the earlier debrief helped the city improve competitiveness; council discussion focused on timing and how the grant would complement the $98,000 approved for facility upgrades. "This is our second year applying for this grant," Chris said, noting staff has adjusted the application after last year’s review.
