The Dickinson City Council voted Jan. 27 to accept the combined Final Report of the Charter Review Commission and the City Attorney’s recommendations.
The City Attorney clarified that council action at this meeting was limited to accepting the report; acceptance does not place any proposed charter amendments on the ballot. The attorney noted a correction to Amendment #3 ballot language and summarized Commission discussion about term limits and distinguishing mayoral vs. council service; the Commission ultimately did not separate those offices.
Councilmember Kevin D. Edmonds moved to accept the report; Scott E. Shrader seconded the motion and the council voted 7–0. City staff will draft a subsequent resolution if the council later decides which amendments, if any, to submit to voters.
