Chief Scott introduced Evan Granger to the board and asked for approval to hire him as a police officer.
"Evan is a Evan is 22 years old. He is also a carnival high school grad of 20 22," Chief Scott said, adding that Granger's family background includes first responders and that the chief recommended him for hire. The board moved, seconded and approved the hire by voice vote.
Chief Scott said Granger will enter the academy and proceed to field training (FTO) once requirements are complete. The board offered brief congratulations but did not discuss the candidate's personnel file or vote tally beyond the oral 'aye.'
