Residents ask about food pantry and CDBG grant status; clerk to follow up

During public comment, Ruth Schoonover asked about food for the town’s food pantry. Jeff Sweeney responded that his understanding is the space is intended for emergency storage of non‑perishable items rather than for regular distribution. The board did not adopt new distribution plans at the meeting.
Barbara Dartt asked whether she could still apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to repair her basement. Supervisor Michael Volino said awards for the year had already been made but that her application would remain on file for the next cycle and he would investigate why she had not been notified of a decision.
"We are hoping to store non-perishables, not distribute them," Jeff Sweeney said when clarifying the pantry's intended use. "Her application will be on file for next year," Supervisor Volino said in response to Barbara Dartt's inquiry about the CDBG grant.
