The Town Clerk presented the tentative 2026 budget to the board on Sept. 17 and said the budget will be posted on the town website for public review. Supervisor Michael Volino noted the town’s assessed value increased by about 9.5 percent this year and that the tentative budget proposes a 1.67 percent increase in the tax levy, which the board said is below the town’s 2 percent cap referenced in the meeting.
The board did not take a final vote on the budget at the meeting; the tentative budget will be available online and the board scheduled a budget workshop for Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., giving residents an opportunity to review and ask questions. No detailed line‑item changes were described in the minutes beyond the summary percentage figures presented by the Supervisor.
