Committee flags aging dump trucks; T414 headed to auction, replacement arriving next week

Ben Smith said a lineup of used items is being prepared for auction and reported, "T 414 (2005) 10 Wheel dump is going up for auction shortly. A new one to replace this is on order and should be here sometime next week." He also reported T424 (2001) will require an extensive Jake brake repair estimated at $2,100 and that a replacement for that truck is expected by the end of 2025. The committee discussed the rust and aging of vehicles and higher repair frequency and costs.
The committee recorded the auction plan for T414 and noted repair estimates for T424 as inputs for procurement and capital-planning decisions.
