Nate Olson, owner of the kayak rental business, joined the Commission by conference call to propose placing a pop-up rental stand at the Lake Hallie boat landing. Olson said the business would supply new single- and double-seat kayaks and paddleboards, provide life jackets, handle maintenance and secure equipment with smart locks and optional camera monitoring through an app-based system.
Olson asked for an approximately 8-by-14-foot space with a 3–4-foot clearance to position equipment; staff and the Commission noted the plan requires final Village Board approval on May 4 and indicated installation could proceed by May 11 if approval is granted. The Commission requested confirmation of liability coverage and a written operations plan before signing off.
