Wanda Snyder, representing Catholic Mission of Hope of Maryville, Illinois, addressed the Village of South Roxana board during public comment and described the organization's 26-year effort to assist vulnerable children. She said the mission expanded "from a school with 22 children" to nine schools and six rescue homes and requested the village's help with a fundraiser or opportunities to speak to local groups to raise awareness and funds.
Snyder said the mission accepts children without turning any away and asked the board to consider ways village residents or civic groups might support their work. The board did not take formal action on the request during the meeting.
