Public commenter urges clearer prioritization guidance for subgroups

A Seattle Children's representative urged the work group to clarify what elements subgroups should prioritize (which initiatives or plan dimensions) so subgroups can be appropriately responsive when drafting recommendations; she also asked that the council representative be given standing time to report back.
Kashi Aurora, who identified herself as working at Seattle Children's, used public comment to ask the work group to be explicit about prioritization so subgroups can focus their limited capacity on recommendations the work group wants elevated. "If the intention is to have subgroup recommendations align with a specific element of the strategic plan it would be really helpful to know that when subgroups put together those recommendation forms," she said.
Kashi also recommended that whoever represents the work group on the Leadership Council be given standing agenda time at work group meetings to report back on council decisions, pose questions to the group, and gather bidirectional feedback so the representative can channel the wide variety of perspectives represented on the work group.
Facilitators reminded the group that written public comment may be emailed through July 23 and encouraged members to submit materials by that date if they preferred not to speak live.
