Board approves hires, ESY staff and new teacher appointments for 2026–27

The Board approved several personnel actions during its May 21 meeting as part of the consent agenda and New Business. Notable approvals include the appointment of Taylor Childress to an Elementary Education Teacher position in the B-2 tenure area for a four-year probationary term (commencing September 4, 2026) with salary based on Step 3 of the collective bargaining agreement. The district recorded that Childress holds an Initial certificate in Early Childhood Education (B-2).
The board also approved staff for the 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) program: teachers (Lori Engle, Alana Penna, Heather Painting), on-call teachers and teacher aides, the ESY nurse Amy Stevens (with Nicole Forti as on-call), and related substitutes. Marete Seymore was appointed as Technology/Agriculture teacher effective September 8, 2026, on a four-year probationary appointment to be paid at Step 6 for 2026–27. Additional spring-sports and extracurricular appointments were approved, along with lists of Summer 2026 Food Service helpers and substitutes.
Each personnel motion was presented on recommendation of the superintendent and approved by the board, with recorded motions passing by the board vote as listed in the minutes.
