Washington Thriving posts director role; perinatal BloomWorks sprint set for Spokane

Hannah Traphagen, Washington Thriving program manager at the Health Care Authority, told members that the position created in HB 2429 — previously described as an executive coordinator — is now posted as the director of Washington Thriving and the posting link was shared in the meeting chat. "...the executive coordinator role, established out of the house bill 2 4 2 9, has been posted as the director of Washington thriving," she said.
Dana (Washington Thriving/BHC team) described initiative work: BloomWorks will begin the first 12‑week perinatal sprint July 20 focused on Spokane; champions from DOH, DCYF and HCA will work with BloomWorks during the sprint to increase access to perinatal substance use disorder supports. Staff said a blog post and Washington Thriving newsletter will provide more details and that members who subscribe will receive updates.
Members welcomed the updates and noted they will watch the perinatal sprint results to inform recommendations and subgroup coordination. Dana emphasized that other initiatives (students/CoLab and treatment services expansion) remain in iterative or exploratory phases.
