Board members discussed the district's long-range facilities plan and a request for proposals (RFP) to secure updated demography and enrollment projections. A staff presenter said an RFP is currently out, that several companies had asked clarifying questions, and that the RFP allows the board to reject all bids if it chooses.
The presenter explained how demographers combine live birth rates, permit data and dwelling types to forecast enrollment changes and gave an example of how a projected apartment development could increase a boundary's enrollment by a few percentage points. The timeline for delivery was discussed: the contractor's final demographic enrollment report was noted for Oct. 12 so the board could review it at the October work session.
