Staff told council the final certified values for the 2024 tax roll increased by roughly $4,000,000 compared with earlier figures and that after adjustments the general fund side showed about $12,000 of additional revenue. The staff representative explained that the submission provides the county with proof the city received the roll and acted on it for their records. “It increased from our certified values, about 4,000,000,” the staff speaker said while describing the tie-out and the reason the ordinance is brought forward.
Council moved to approve the ordinance accepting the 2024 tax-roll summary for the City of Murphy and related entities; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Staff indicated any ongoing protests and legal actions at the county level are being processed separately and that this yearly acknowledgment is a standard administrative matter.
