Utilities staff provided a technical report on water operations. The staff member reported a total of "6.08 inches of rain for 2025" so far and noted the lake level rose from 16.56.7 to 16.58.1, an increase tied to rain and upstream inflow. The utilities report included completion of a new 16-inch gate valve at the elevated tower (the prior valve dated to 1963), sewer-main repairs including replacing 25 feet of sewer main and adding new mains, and twice-monthly backwashes of filters for routine maintenance.
Staff also provided month-to-date chemical usage and costs: 1,140 pounds of chlorine tablets at a cost of $3,420 and 190 pounds of pH acid at a cost of $2,310. The utilities representative said public notices had been posted on water bills, the local paper, Facebook and the town website to inform customers about work and water quality updates.
