The Village of Tivoli Planning Board met March 23 at Historic Watts dePeyster Village Hall and opened a public hearing on a proposed accessory building at 47 Montgomery Street. Deputy Chairman Andrew Tejerina called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and the board approved minutes from its March 9 meeting with one name correction.
Village Planner Adriana Beltrani introduced the application, saying the parcel is in the R-15,000 district and within the Historic Overlay. She reported the proposed shed footprint as 447 square feet and the total proposed building area, including attic space, as 894 square feet, both below the Historic Overlay maxima the planner cited for the record. On a motion by Miles Sweeny, the board opened the public hearing at 7:06 p.m.
Applicants George Smith and Amelia Legare presented materials, including a sun-angle diagram and an applicant letter. Neighbors and attorneys presented written materials for the record. Several nearby residents spoke in person; the board closed the hearing at the meeting but accepted additional written comments addressed to the Clerk through April 6, 2026. The board adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
The hearing remains open to receive written submissions, and the Planning Board did not take a site-plan or zoning determination at the meeting.
