The Clear Lake Shores City Council on Jan. 6 approved a contract with Galveston County to administer the May 2026 General Election. Mayor Pro-Tem Amanda Fenwick moved to approve the contract; Councilman Jeff Terrell seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Chronister told the council the upcoming election is scheduled for May 2, 2026, and that applications for the council positions with expiring terms will be accepted from Jan. 14 through Feb. 13, 2026. The council did not amend filing deadlines or election procedures during the meeting; the county contract will govern election administration.
