Trihydro project manager Sara Cline explained the county's proposed Change Order #1 to the ADLC 2026 Street Improvements contract, increasing the contract price by $310,496 to add three scopes: Maple Street between Fourth and Seventh (excluding some intersections), the Park Avenue to Van Buren bypass exit lane (advanced earlier as a work change directive and now formalized), and 265 feet of new sidewalk at Benny Goodman Park (215 feet east, 50 feet south).
Cline said the sidewalk portion will be paid from the Urban Renewal Agency Downtown Tax Increment Finance district fund; the packet showed a $25,000 allocation with roughly $17,000 remaining and the sidewalk cost listed at $15,771. CEO Bill Everett and commissioners praised contractor performance and said favorable bid prices allowed the added scope. Commissioner Paul Smith moved approval; Commissioner Ed Beaudette seconded. The motion carried 5-0.
