Commission reviews courtroom audio/video upgrade quotes; clerk backs Montana Pro Audio

Clerk of the Commission Jessica Dailey briefed the board on competing bids to upgrade the county's courtroom audio and video, saying Montana Pro Audio supplied a complete, responsive proposal and clear product documentation. "We went out to get quotes and Montana Pro Audio got back to me right away... I was just super impressed with their work compared to the other quote I received," Dailey said; company representative Ryan Johnston walked commissioners through the proposed rack-mounted system, simplified patch panels and PTZ camera presets.
Johnston explained the design choices and trade-offs, telling commissioners that a wireless microphone option would add cost and potential reliability issues: "Wireless mics are not cheap anymore because everybody is fighting over airwaves anymore." Commissioners discussed acoustics, room appearance, integration with court systems and vendor service; CEO Bill Everett and several commissioners expressed support for moving the item to next week's agenda for a formal vote.
