Kayleen Kidwell presented the annual FY2027 extension services agreement between Montana State University and Anaconda-Deer Lodge County and described active 4‑H programming in the county. "Right now we are at ninety-four," Kidwell said when commissioners asked how many youth participate. She also noted preparations for the Deer Lodge Fair, scheduled for Aug. 8–16, 2026, and asked the commission to approve the contract that retains extension services in the county.
CEO Bill Everett praised Kidwell's work, saying she "does an absolutely phenomenal job" and that the 4‑H program is an important county resource. Commissioners expressed support; no formal vote was recorded during the work session. The agreement will return to the commission for formal action on the posted agenda.
