The Clear Lake Shores City Council on Jan. 6 approved $73,857 in emergency repairs to the city’s community clubhouse to address structural and water-damage issues. Council members voted unanimously to replace exterior decking, stringers and ledgers, repair failed pilings, and fix water-damaged second-story flooring, exterior doors, handrails, stairs, ramp, and failed gable rafters and corbels on the north and south ends of the building.
Mayor Pro-Tem Amanda Fenwick moved to approve the emergency repairs; Councilman Jeff Terrell seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The contract and work scope were presented to council as an emergency measure to preserve safety and prevent further deterioration. The council did not specify a contractor name in the meeting record; approval established authority to proceed with repairs up to the authorized amount.
City Administrator Mike Kramm had earlier noted that repairs to the Clubhouse were on the council agenda for review. The council set no public completion date during the meeting. Any further budget impact will be handled through the recently adopted FY26 budget amendment enacted the same night.
