Vice Principal Kyle Brown presented the proposed District Special Education Plan and reviewed related programs and partnerships during the Aug. 22 board meeting. Brown reported that the district's Extended School Year program ran July 8–Aug. 16 and included travel to the Boak Center in Lowville with participation from five area schools.
Brown also described operational supports tied to special education work: the satellite Neighborhood Center now hosts a nurse practitioner (Dr. Ashley Price) on Wednesdays; the Work‑Based Learning Coordinator has met with the CSE chair to expand opportunities in the community; summer and transitional services included K–3 summer school (July 8–Aug. 1) and online summer instruction through a PNW BOCES partnership.
