Operator asks Tupper Lake to address Country Club Restaurant repairs and storage

Scott Bell, a resident and seasonal operator of the Country Club Restaurant, presented a prioritized list of maintenance needs and permissions he said are necessary to support events and regular service.
Bell called out safety and operational items including an annual fireplace inspection, professional kitchen hood cleaning, hot-water and plumbing issues that he said require a more reliable hot-water source, electrical questions in a small structure he called the “dog Shack,” and a need to move the ice machine and resurface floors. “The building should at least look good,” Bell told board members and asked permission to make some behind-the-bar changes at his own expense.
Supervisor Rick Dattola said limited budget resources will constrain immediate repairs but the Town Board is willing to work with Bell; Councilman Owen Littlefield will meet with him in the coming weeks to review priorities. Robert Beausoleil donated an air conditioner to the restaurant during the meeting.
The Board did not commit a specific dollar amount at the meeting but directed follow-up meetings to identify feasible next steps and potential timing for repairs.
