EDC reports on welcome sign, Family Dollar property and corner improvements

Vicki Castleberry gave the EDC report at the Nov. 12 meeting, saying the group "were still working on the welcome to Coffee City sign" but had taken a step back after learning there are multiple steps with TxDOT and will ask Alderman Carrie Ousley to help make necessary calls. She said the status of gifted Family Dollar property remains uncertain pending advice from the attorney, and that the EDC plans to make an offer to purchase a section of the land while they wait for legal guidance.
Castleberry said the EDC is seeking three bids this week for a fence and solar lighting at the corner property on Highsaw, participated with the Frankston EDC for Halloween events, is recruiting new members, and is planning a Christmas dinner for city staff, council and spouses with RSVPs routed to the city secretary.
