U/S Torrey moved, seconded by Mr. Dontz, that the board follow the labor attorney's recommendation to appeal the arbitrator's ruling to 19th Circuit Court and "leave employment with Manistee Central Dispatch as status quo." The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The board entered a closed session earlier in the meeting to discuss grievance arbitration award options under MCL 15.268(c); minutes record that board members, HR Generalist Julie Griffis, 911 Director Mike Machen, 911 Deputy Director Alvin Rischel and Labor Attorney Bonnie Toskey were permitted to attend the closed session.
