Select Board approves 911 coordinator training, hires road crew member and signs warrants

The Board authorized Operations Specialist Ashley Tuttle to pursue state 911 Coordinator training and the $1,600 stipend, unanimously approved hiring Duane Sherman for the road crew starting Aug. 17, and approved warrants totalling multiple pay orders; the meeting also covered access permits, mowing assistance, Communications Union District membership discussion, cemetery repairs and a donated elm.
The Board authorized Operations Specialist Ashley Tuttle to pursue state training to serve as the town's 911 Coordinator and approved payment of the full coordinator stipend of $1,600. Beth Grant moved to allow Tuttle to pursue training and the salary; the Board voted unanimously.
After entering executive session for personnel matters, the Board exited and unanimously voted to hire Duane Sherman as a member of the road crew, with a start date of Aug. 17. The Board reviewed and approved Pay Order Report #93414 for $58,286.62, Pay Order Report #93441 for $3,588.12, and Pay Order Report #93425 for $109,664.75, and approved prior meeting minutes.
On administrative items the Board approved an access permit for Phil Stumpf (24 Snowflake Lane), gave Coleman leeway to negotiate mowing the Access Road with Hunter, directed Wallace to decline acting on a private-road 2-Rod Road designation request, accepted a Liberty Tree Society offer of a 25' elm for the Town Hall, and heard that Middletown Cemetery stone-wall renovations are complete with pending headstone repairs. Wallace will reach out before the Board votes on withdrawing from the Southern VT Communications Union District.
