Board approves $35,000 transfer for Town Hall and community center upgrades

Member Christie Boswell outlined higher-than-expected costs for Town Hall work and asked the Board to move $35,000 from the General Reserve Fund into the Facilities Reserve Fund to cover remaining Walker contract work and facility upgrades. The requested funds were to cover $11,000 toward a 4-bay furnace, $1,600 for front-step cement work, removal and replacement of aging condensers (including a new larger condenser and mini-split interior units), and a wall-hung water heater for the library.
The Board approved the $35,000 transfer unanimously. Coleman and members also approved related site work: Coleman said he could move a Community Center gas line to allow removal and replacement of a cement pad under a handicapped ramp and to prepare for parking-lot paving; the Board approved hiring Trevor to remove the pad and to proceed with Hunter for paving after the gas line is shut off. Members directed Wallace to confirm contracted scope items and follow up on unfinished Walker work.
