Santee board clears use of Fund 40 and CalSHAPE grant for districtwide ventilation upgrades

The Santee School District Board of Education opened and closed a public hearing on the district’s planned use of Government Code 4217.12 to apply Fund 40 and CalSHAPE funds to ventilation improvements districtwide. Staff reported a CalSHAPE grant fiscal impact of $138,000 and estimated annual electrical, gas and other thermal savings in excess of $32,630 resulting from the improvements.
There were no public comments during the hearing. The board included the item on the Consent Calendar as Resolution No. 2425‑15, which the board adopted as part of its unanimous consent‑calendar vote (5‑0). The consent calendar also approved related ministerial items (minutes, purchases, and authorizations to solicit bids for asphalt replacement and dishwasher projects). The resolution authorizes the district to use the specified funds in accordance with Government Code 4217.12.
