Board schedules contractor Q&A after reviewing Winhall Hollow engineering bids
Summary
The Select Board reviewed three large engineering bids for the Winhall Hollow Road project; staff said narrowing scope could lower an Enman Kesselring bid, and the Board asked Wallace to arrange one meeting per contractor at the Aug. 19 meeting to explain pricing before a timely decision.

Members reviewed three substantial engineering proposals for the Winhall Hollow Road project and questioned cost drivers. Andrea Ameden said narrowing the project scope could produce lower pricing from Enman Kesselring. The Board requested that each bidder attend a one-on-one session at the next meeting so members can ask questions and better understand pricing and scope.
Vice Chair Julie Isaacs expressed concern about the recent frequency of special meetings but agreed to the contractor Q&A plan. Karoline Wallace was asked to coordinate single meetings for each contractor at the Aug. 19 meeting and to circulate materials so the Board can make a timely procurement decision given tight scheduling for the road work.
