DANC urges combined repairs for Water and Sewer District No. 1; grant work under way for sewer

Kari Tremper, project manager for the Development Authority of the North Country, updated the Town of Tupper Lake Board on consolidation and engineering work for Water and Sewer District No. 1 and urged the town to seek concurrent funding for both systems.
Tremper said the authority has completed an Asset Management Plan and hired GYMO to perform a Preliminary Engineering Report. She told the board, "DANC will be continuing the grant application process for both Water and Sewer District No. 1 in the coming months," and noted that the sewer project has received partial funding while the water project has not. Tremper recommended pursuing both projects simultaneously to make the overall package more cost effective for taxpayers. The board did not take an immediate vote on grant commitments during the meeting.
