Chief Derrick Tienken opened the Select Board's report with July crime statistics and personnel updates, saying the department's newest hire is integrating well. "New Police Officer Shawn is progressing very well; he's a good addition to the team," Tienken said. He also reported that Jacob is attending a Crimes Against Children training conference and that National Night Out went well.
Board member Beth Grant thanked Tienken for resolving a local dispatch-number confusion. Tienken said he would research the legal limits on hiding comments on the department's Facebook page after a question from Member Stacy Eddy-Gordon. The Board took no formal action beyond discussion and thanks.
The police report was delivered as part of routine departmental updates at the start of the Aug. 5 meeting; no personnel changes or budget requests were approved during this item.
