Cedar Park council authorizes City Manager to negotiate land purchases for Toro Grande road project

The Cedar Park City Council on Sept. 26 authorized the City Manager to make offers, negotiate and execute all required documents to acquire land rights for properties needed for the Toro Grande Boulevard north–south roadway improvement project. The motion, linked to items discussed in executive session, passed 6-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Anne Duffy absent.
Council’s action authorizes negotiation with four named property owners or entities: CAVBO LLC, David Crumley, LUX INMORTALIBUS LLC and the Julia R. Amaral Trust. The authorization follows the Council’s closed deliberations under Texas Government Code §551.072 on acquisition and valuation of real property. The approval allows the City Manager to complete agreements to effectuate the acquisitions but does not disclose agreed prices in the public minutes.
Councilmember Eric Boyce moved the authorization; Councilmember Heather Jefts seconded. Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin presided over the open-session action announcing the result. The agenda record lists the action as pertaining to the Toro Grande Roadway Improvement Project and records the vote as 6-0 with Mayor Pro Tem Duffy absent.
